I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin, niece, and a friend and neighbor. I'm also an avid reader, gardener and genealogist. I do a lot of volunteer work for the Parks and Recreation department of my city.

I started reading books at about age ten, when the Bookmobile rolled up to our school ground. I checked out my first book, which was a biography of George Washington Carver, and I was hooked. Ever since then, I've had a book going, and never a day goes by that I don't read, even if it's only a little bit.

My favorite authors are L. Ron Hubbard, Nevil Shute, John Irving, Barbara Kingsolver, Billy Lett, Charles Dickens, Diana Gabaldon, Adriana Trigiani, Alexander McCall Smith, Amitov Ghosh, Amy Tan, Sue Miller, Robert A. Heinlein, Rosamunde Pilcher, Sara Donati, Sena Jeter Naslund, Sue Monk Kidd and Ursula Hegi (so far).
